Now Filming: ‘In the End, Everything Will Be Okay’

Film adds to Cast: Roberto Manrique, Alvaro Manso, Nüll García, Elena Zurita and Ana Ruano

Principal Photography has begun on Néstor Ruiz Medina’s latest film

(Madrid, Spain, April 22, 2025) Principal photography has begun on “Al Final Todo va a Estar Bien” also titled “In the End, Everything Will Be Okay,” the second feature-length film of Spanish filmmaker Néstor Ruiz Medina. The feature will film across various locations in Cuenca, Madrid, and Cádiz, Spain, to capture the emotional and visual texture that lends to its vibrant story. It is expected to wrap after a seven-week shoot.

"I'm so excited to be filming in all these different locations across the country. It's a great way to help decentralize production and move beyond the usual hotspots like Madrid, Barcelona, or regions that typically draw shoots for tax incentives, like Bilbao or the Canary Islands. These less-explored parts of Spain offer stunning natural landscapes, and it's important to us to help shine a light on them. My dad’s family was originally from Cuenca, where we've started filming, so coming back to shoot my second film here feels really special. Plus, being from Madrid and now living in Cádiz, it makes me proud to be working across so many different parts of the country," added Ruiz Medina.

Adding to the ensemble are Roberto Manrique (“Sin Senos Sí Hay Paraíso”), Alvaro Manso (“30 Monedas,” “La Vida Breve”), Nüll García (“Punto Nemo”), Elena Zurita (“Islas”), and Ana Ruano (“Breathless”, “El Ser Querido”).

“After our 2020 short film, “One to One,” the chance to work with Néstor and Esther again was something I couldn’t pass up. Then this script came along—fun, bold, and totally out of the box—and saying yes was a no-brainer,” said Manrique.

Previously announced cast includes Esther Acebo (“Money Heist”), María Lázaro (“21 Positions”), and Alex Sorian Brown (“Evan Wood,” “Hour and Twenty”).

The project marks a significant leap for Ruiz Medina, a seasoned filmmaker whose shorts have been featured at several prestigious international festivals, including Tribeca. His work has been nominated twice for the Spanish Academy Goya Awards, in 2018 and 2022. His feature debut was 2022’s “21 Positions,” which screened at Tallen Black Nights in Estonia and made its domestic debut at the Seville European Film Festival. The film won a special mention from the jury and the Young Jury Award for Best Debut Film at the REC Festival in Tarragona.

The film is produced by Mono con Pistolas, Sorenfilms and Hackeo Productions, with support from Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha, Diputación Provincial de Cuenca and Ayuntamientos de Cuenca, Carboneras de Guadazaón y Cañete.

“In the End, Everything Will Be Okay” is slated for completion later this year, with festival and distribution plans to be announced.
